On the 16 and 17 February 2008, NTU Archery Club held their annual NTU Open with approximately 200 participants from various walks of life, be it students or working adults, competing for the gold medals in the various categories of Standard class, Recurve Open, Compound class etc. It was two days of intense but friendly competition where archers of different clubs and institutions sought to win their competitors and more importantly, themselves while making friends in the process. This competition proved to be a great chance for archers to know others with similar interests to themselves which was one of the main aims of the competition.

NTU Open was meant to be a platform where members of the general community could be spectators and learn more about the sport of archery while the archers interacted through competition and gained more than just experience through this annual event. Since this is held by NTU, it was meant to be a chance for the NTU archery club members to learn through the organization of the competition as well as when the competition was being held which will aid them in their future in the working world. The competition was a success due to the participants and with the support of our sponsors i.e. Cornerstone Wines, M1 and Bausch & Lomb to name a few who generously championed our aims and thus our competition, we were able to bring NTU Open to greater heights than before and helped the general public learn more about this sport in order to encourage interest in it and in sports in general, in Singapore.
