Invent Singapore
15 August 2008 – Organized by the Fellowship of Inventors (F.O.I.), Invent Singapore Gala Dinner was held at the prestigious Pan Pacific Hotel. The Invent Singapore Award was presented at the gala to pay tribute to remarkable local invention. The recipient, Trek2000 International, who invented the revolutionary thumbdrive, not only made its mark in Singapore, but also created waves at the international level.
Official champagne sponsor for the evening was 70–year-old Singaporean company, Hock Tong Bee Pte Ltd – CornerStone, who recently launched their very own bubbly, Champagne Renaissance, the choice champagne of Invent Singapore Gala Dinner 2008.
This inaugural event was attended by many business leaders, innovators and government officials, with Senior Minister of State (SMS) for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Zainul Abidin Rasheed as Guest-of-Honor.
We had the honour of having the Senior Minister and F.O.I. Chairman, Dr Ting Choon Meng do the celebratory pop of a bottle of Champagne Renaissance on stage. Guests raised their champagne flutes and toasted to the occasion. Besides being sparkled by rounds of Champagne Renaissance, guests were also treated to a dazzling performance by regionally-known celebrity twins, Lee Wei Song and Lee Si Song. Well-known plastic surgeon and beauty guru, Dr. Woffles Wu also entertained guests with a number for the evening.
